1,546,356 books were published between January 1 and August 7, 2017. That's 7061 new books every single day of the year. Yikes!
The number of books published goes up almost every year. In 2013 (the most recent year data is available), 304,912 books were published in the US. As recently as 1990, the number was only 46,736.
In other words, an author or publisher releasing a book in the US today has to work six times as hard to get noticed as authors and publishers did just a couple of decades ago.
Fortunately, you have a roadmap: Grassroots Marketing for Authors and Publishers, from award-winning author Shel Horowitz. And many of the strategies it lays out cost little or nothing. The 6x9, $24.95 paperback book is 290 pages of solid information to help any book succeed.
